Usually after an intense and emotional victory, a team comes out flat...
Chicago Bulls no longer shopping Luol Deng
The Chicago Bulls have now changed their mind and will not be shopping Luol Deng who is set to become a free-agent at the end of the season. Multiple teams did inquire about the forward but, the Bulls have committed to keep the long-time Bull in Chicago for now. With star point guard Derrick Rose out for the season, Deng became the leading scorer and arguably the most important player on offense. Deng is averaging 19.6 points, seven rebounds and 4.1 assists per game for the injury riddled Bulls.
The Bulls are not just without Derrick Rose but, also Jimmy Butler, who is out with a toe injury and recently suffered an ankle injury against the Thunder. Joakim Noah and Kirk Hinrich are also dealing with injuries which have slowed them down. Furthermore, even Deng is suffering from sore Achilles which will prevent him from playing for a least a week which puts the Bulls in a tough situation.
The Chicago Bulls are heading towards a disappointing season in which they could miss the playoffs after entering the season as NBA Championship contenders against the likes of Indiana, Miami, San Antonio and Oklahoma City. Chicago has been routed by double digits in their past two games against Houston and Oklahoma City.
While the Chicago Bulls do need scoring, trading Luol Deng may not solve their problems as the Bulls are just bleeding right now and Derrick Rose is the only player who can stop it. Deng has been efficient and productive for the Bulls but, injuries are the only reason why everything has fell apart for this team.
