The Brooklyn Nets blew a big lead last night as they fell to Phoenix Suns 112-104 on the road.  The Nets came strong in the first half as they built a double-digit lead entering halftime but, the Suns responded in the second in which they outscored the Nets 63-41. The Nets seemed to be out of gaz and were missing easy looks at the rim while the Suns offense got on fire.  Guard Joe Johnson led the Nets with 21 points , five rebounds and three assists. Brooklyn will have to do a better job defensively if they stand any chance at defeating the Golden State Warriors. They also need to send the ball into the paint in the hands of Brook Lopez  and Kevin Garnett who should be able to dominate  against a small Warriors front court.

The Golden State Warriors dropped their first game at home as they were flattened by the San Antonio Spurs 113-100.  Despite shooting 54% from the field and taking more free throws, the Warriors were unable to beat the Spurs who are starting to turn things around after a slow start to their season.  Guards Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson scored 16 and 29 points respectively but, were outdone by Spurs forward Kawahi Leonard and guard Tony Parker who shot much more efficiently from the field and ran circles around the Golden State defense.  The Warriors allowed too many second chance points and they shot two less shots the Spurs who got many easy looks at the rim.  The team is clearly missing forward David Lee who is still out with an injury with no timetable on his return.  The Brooklyn Nets are playing back to back nights which should give Golden State an advantage here as they are an old team.

Betting consensus: 55% of the Public is betting on the Golden State Warriors to cover -9.5 at home.

Prediction:  Golden State Warriors 102, Brooklyn Nets 95

Pick:  Brooklyn Nets +9.5
