The Phoenix Suns dropped their second straight game as they fell to the Memphis Grizzlies 102-101 at home. The Suns fought hard in this game as they pushed the Grizzlies to the very end but, they were unable to convert down the stretch to escape with the win.  With less than 10 seconds left in the game, Memphis forward converted a three point-play to give Memphis the lead. The Suns had a chance to win the game but, Marc Gasol blocked Markieff Morris’ jump shot.   Despite the loss , the Suns proved they can compete with the top teams in the Western Conference and deserved to make the playoffs.  Point guard Eric Bledsoe has done a great job of leading the offense as he is averaging 16.9 points and 6 assists per game. He will have a tough task guarding Blazers guard Damian Lilliard in the upcoming game as his play may decide the fate of the suns.

The Portland Trail Blazers snapped their three game losing streak on Tuesday as they beat the Utah Jazz 103-102 at home. However, the win was definitely not impressive as the Blazers struggled to pull away from a weak offensive team.  The Jazz consistently found ways to stay in the game and took the lead a couple of times in the fourth quarter before Wesley Matthews gave the Blazers some breathing room at home.  The Blazers have not been playing their best basketball in the past couple of games and have lost seven of their last 10 games.  This time has the talent to compete for a NBA title but, inconsistency on defense continues to haunt them.  They better not underestimate the Suns as they can pull off the upset on the road.

Betting consensus: The Line is set at -4.5 in favor of the Portland Trail Blazers.

Prediction: Portland Trail Blazers 95 , Phoenix Suns 87

Pick:  Portland Trail Blazers -4.5
