The Washington Wizards dropped their third straight game as they fell to the Charlotte Hornets 92-88 at home. It was a disappointing result for a Wizards team that is trying to prove that they are a legitimate contender in the Eastern Conference.  The Wizards fell apart in crunch time as they missed some easy looks at the basketball, especially guard John Wall who missed a layup that would of cut the deficit to only one point late in the fourth quarter.  Wall finished with 16 points and 10 assists but, shot poorly from the field and did commit four turnovers.  The Wizards will now have a chance to avenge their home loss as they travel to Charlotte.  If they want to avoid dropping this game, Washington will need a better effort from big men Marcin Gortat and Nene inside the paint and containing Hornets’ center AL Jefferson.

The Charlotte Bobcats will be looking for their third consecutive win as they welcome the Wizards at Time Warner Cable arena.  The Bobcats beat the Wizards a couple of night ago thanks to a big performance by Al Jefferson who put up 18 points and hauled in 12 rebounds. He was a force inside the paint and did a great job shutting down the Wizards inside game.  Wizards’ starters Gortat and Nene only combined for 10 points and shot poorly throughout the game. The Hornets will again be without star point guard Kemba Walker and will continue to start Brian Roberts who  has impressed the coaching staff with his play .

Betting consensus: The line is set -1 in favor of the Charlotte Hornets.

Prediction: Washington Wizards 103 , Charlotte Hornets 92

Pick:  Washington Wizards ML
