The Detroit Lions fell to the Arizona Cardinals 14-6 on the road this past weekend and once again struggled on offense despite having the one of the most talented roster in the league composed of Calvin Johnson, Golden Tate , Reggie Bush and quarterback Matthew Stafford.  For the first time since 2009, the Lions were unable to score a single touchdown and had to settle for two field goals.  Stafford completed only 18 of 30 pass attempts for 183 yards and one interception. It really amazes me how this offense in struggling with so much talent. The defense has definitely been surprise and has been a major reason why the team is currently still in contention for first place in the division.  The defense ranks 5th in passing yards and first in rushing yards allowed per game.

The New England Patriots were dogs on the road last week but, that did not prevent them from destroying the Indianapolis Colts 40-20 at Lucas Oil Stadium.  Tom Brady and the Patriots offense was flawless as it converted 33 first downs while putting up 501 total offensive yards.  Brady threw for 257 yards , two touchdowns and two interceptions while completing 19 of his 30 attempts.   His did not play great but, still delivered a solid performance. However, running back Jonas Gray was sensational for the Patriots as he ran for 199 yards and four touchdowns on 38 carries, averaging 5.2 yards per carry.  This week , the Patriots are at home but, face a tough test against a strong Lions defense.

Betting consensus: The New England Patriots are favored by -7 at home with 65% of the Public betting on them.

Prediction: New England Patriots 27, Detroit Lions 24

Pick:  Detroit Lions +7
