9th ranked Frenchman will play against 11th ranked Milos Raonic in the fourth round at the 2013 US Open in New York.  Richard Gasquet is coming off a win against Dmitry Tursunov who retired  in the fourth set down 4-2 as he probably knew the match was over and he was going to be eliminated. Gasquet played great defensively in the match and made Tursunov commit numerous errors. On the other hand, Milos Raonic was able to rebound from losing the first set to Feliciano Lopez and won the next three sets to win the match 6-7 6-4 6-3 6-4. Raonic also leads the had to head series against Richard Gasquet 1-0.  They met in 2012 at the tournament in Cincinnati where Milos Raonic was able to win in straight sets 7-6 6-3. Both of the players have had an excellent year on hard court as Gasquet is 19-5 while Raonic is 17-7. Raonic has a big serve and a strong forehand which he will use to attack Gasquet who is much more a defensive player and plays near the baseline.   Milos Raonic has to serve well to win this match as that he is weapon and if  does not hold serve,  Gasquet will cruise as the Frenchman has better overall skill set.

Thus, the prediction and pick for Richard Gasquet vs Milos Raonic for 2013 US Open is:

Milos Roanic to win 3-1 four sets
